What to tell us so we can quote accurately

Three people, two of them in hard hats, examining a large rolled technical drawing together.

Four things let us price most jobs without a site visit: the property type and full address, the type of water system, whether there is a cold water storage tank and roughly what size it is, and whether you need a certificate or report and by what date. Those four decide the quote.

  • Property type and address House, flat, block, office, managed estate or new build site, with the postcode.
  • System type Mains supply, new pipework waiting on a Thames Water connection, existing hot and cold water services, or stored water.
  • Cold water storage tank Whether there is one, roughly what size, where it sits, and what it is made of, GRP, plastic or sectional.
  • Certificate or report needed A chlorination certificate, laboratory sample results or a written Legionella risk assessment, and the date it is needed by.
  • Access and occupancy Who holds the keys, whether the water can be turned off, and whether the building is occupied.

What happens next

A commercial plant room with copper and blue plastic pipework running along the walls, an insulated cylinder to one side and a grey sectional cold water storage tank at the far end.

We read your enquiry and come back to you with any questions. Where the system needs to be seen first we arrange a survey. You then get a written quote, and once it is agreed we book a date, carry out the work and issue the paperwork, whether that is a certificate, sample results or a risk assessment report.

  1. We respond We reply and confirm what the work involves and what we need from you.
  2. Survey where needed Complex systems are looked at first, so the quote reflects the real state of the pipework and tanks.
  3. Written quote Itemised, with the scope of the work and the standard it will be carried out to.
  4. Booking We agree a date that works around occupancy, water shutdown windows and any connection deadline.
  5. Work and paperwork The work is carried out, then the certificate, sample results or risk assessment report is issued.
